Henry Goerzen retired from a 35-year teaching career in 1992
and came out of retirement to join the Ina Grafton team in
1997 when he was appointed Coordinator, Pastoral Care,
for the Village. In his role, Henry provides a comprehensive
ministry of religious and spiritual pastoral care for the
residents and their family members by offering ongoing pastoral
visitation and spiritual counselling. He provides on-site
Sunday Worship Services and officiates at many funeral and
memorial services. His dedication to music and the community
has been outstanding over the years. In February 2003, he
received the Golden Jubilee Medal of Queen Elizabeth II to
commemorate the 50th anniversary of her Majesty’s reign
as Queen of Canada. This medal was presented to Canadian citizens
who have made a significant contribution to their fellow citizens,
their community, or to our country. Besides music, Henry’s
favourite pastimes include playing tennis and golf, and riding
his motorcycle.
