Rental Rates

Rent may be market rent or rent-geared-to-income (RGI). Market rent is similar to the amount of rent a person would pay for his/her unit in the community. Rent-geared-to-income (RGI) is subsidized rent that is regulated by Niagara Regional Housing (NRH).

Rent includes utilities, basic cable, and two appliances. For rates, see Village Overview.

Bedsitter Rooms

Bedsitter rooms are available for persons who cannot manage in an apartment setting, but who do not require the 24-hour supervision provided in a long-term care setting. The living space is a large, single room with no appliances. The room is furnished by the client. Rent includes a full meal plan, 24-hour Emergency Response Program, Assisted Living Services, and basic cable. For rates, see Village Overview. All applications for bedsitter rooms are made through the Niagara office of CCAC (Community Care Access Centre). CCAC manages the waiting list and may be contacted at 905‑684‑9441 for information.

How to Apply

All housing options at NIGGV have a waiting list. Since it is difficult to predict how long the wait may be, you are encouraged to apply early.

Application for a market rent unit or bedsitter room is made through NIGGV by completing a Waiting List Application, which is available to print from the link below, or contact the Administration Office.

Application for a RGI unit is made directly through Niagara Regional Housing, which manages the Waiting List for RGI units.
